On June 17 arrived at Arlanda airport HIH Crown Prince Naruhito. He was going to participate in the wedding between Crown Prince Victoria and Daniel Westling. In addition he visited museums, e g the Nobel Museum, and strolled in the Old City of Stockholm.
He was met at the airport by H.E. Ambassador Nakajima, 1st Secretary Tatsukuni Uchida and Colonel Abiko. A small Swedish delegation had the honor of greeting HIH the Crown Prince: Amb Magnus Vahlquist, Amb Ove Heyman, Amb Krister Kumlin, Amb Kaj Falkman, Consul General Leif Almö and Secretary General Edvard Fleetwood.
The Crown Prince arrived in the Imperial Jumbo Jet in which also travelled members of the court and the court press club. A limited number of selected journalists and photographers were also on the plane. As always when the Emperor and Crown Prince travel abroad a second jumbo jet for emergencies arrived 30 minutes after the first one.
Crown Princess Masako remained in Tokyo to take care of the family.
